Rebecca Correia's Fall releases, including Rose Colored Glasses

Rebecca Correia is set to release her upcoming five-song EP titled Flying. In a recent phone interview, I had the opportunity to discuss the two singles that precede this EP.

Rose Colored Glasses, a duet with Lillie Mae was released in September of 2024. Rose Colored Glasses celebrates the journey of recovering from a breakup and recognizing the positive aspects it left behind while letting go of the negatives and finding a way back home. The song is distinct from the forthcoming EP; however, the anticipation surrounding the release of the song generated its own momentum. The release was followed by a video, available on Correia's website and YouTube.(linked on photo)

Rebecca Correia and Shy Carter have released a cover of the hit song Speak to a Girl, which will be featured on Rebecca's upcoming EP titled Flying. Carter was one of the songwriters for Speak to a Girl, a song originally recorded by Tim McGraw and Faith Hill in 2019. The duet by Carter and Correia was recorded in Leipers Fork, Tennessee, where Rebecca spends her time when she is not in Massachusetts. The song was recorded on Rebecca’s birthday and after completing the recording, they hurried outside to catch the eclipse, even though it was a cloudy day, it was a magical memory for Rebecca.

Rebecca grew up on a Massachusetts farm where horses were the primary animals. Her mother is a retired first-grade teacher, and her father was a barber who was also involved in musical theater. Rebecca began writing songs at the age of nine and has since accumulated over 250 songs. Rebecca began playing piano in kindergarten and plays guitar now as well. She found it challenging to transition from being a primarily solo writer to becoming comfortable with co-writing. For her, songwriting is both therapeutic and personal; therefore, having the right team to collaborate with is essential, as sharing intimate aspects of her life can be intimidating.

Congratulations on the releases, Rebecca Correia! Thank you for chatting with me about all of these pieces, In A Country Minute.
