Artist Spotlight

On June 16th Jake Birdeye released his first single Down the Road written by Jacob Douglas Birdseye and Michael Edward John Villalva and produced by Rockhouse Productions in St. Joseph. Down the Road is descriptive of the truckdrivers lifestyle, explaining the unforgiveness of that career. Jake has a smooth and sultry sound to his voice, combined with the instrumental choices in this cut to set the mood and emotional understanding of life on the road as a truck driver.

I talked with Jake earlier this year in anticipation of this song's release and you can read that post HERE

Congratulations on the release of Down the Road, Jake!

Jake's show schedule is available on his Facebook page

I spoke with the multi-talented Caitlynne Curtis recently about the tribute song she released on Father’s Day weekend about her dad. Where You Left Off is a song of admiration about Caitlynne’s dad and her gratitude and appreciation for her dad choosing to put his dreams aside to be the provider of their household when she was growing up.

"Picking up where you left off

I hope you know your dreams aint lost

Using everything you taught me to be

Hopefully you can see that

I'm picking up where you left off"

("Where You Left Off' by Caitlynne Curtis)

Caitlynne’s musical talents started when she was 6 years old. Caitlynne has grown up in Nashville and is a single mother of an 8-year-old son chasing her own dreams of playing and writing music. Caitlynne put her career aside after he was born, and became a car saleswoman trying to have what she expressed as more stability but hating it, she went back to her music career. Struggle Jennings discovered Caitlynne Curtis on social media where they started their professional collaborations. Caitlynne has expanded her creative world of writing songs to include Where You Left Off as her first country single, using it as a turning point in her career.

Caitlynne Curtis has successfully released singles, albums, and EPs, some singles with Struggle Jennings, and is joining Struggle Jennings on tour opening for Jelly Roll on the Backroad Baptism tour. Caitlynne Curtis has 11 songs in the works for a new album and more singles will be dropping until it is at full completion. She has the tour stops listed on her Instagram page where she’ll be performing.

Thank you Caitlynne for sharing your dads story with me In A Country Minute

I recently spoke with David Tucker, and of course, we first started talking about his recent single- What You Think About This Song. David Tucker, Jake Saghi, and Nathan Chapman wrote this clever song about a man unable to tell how this woman feels about him so he has her listen to a song about her and how he feels about her. What You Think About This Song uses the lyrics to find out if she likes him back. David explained, "He'll know she does if he gets a good response, if he doesn’t, the second verse gives him a back out."

The music video for What You Think About This Song was released on May 12. A second stripped-down version was also released on June 2nd, using a steel guitar and piano also with a complementing music video.

The music videos are available to watch on a variety of channels including Vevo Country TV, Apple TV, Samsung TV, and the Discover Channel.

What You Think About This Song is the 2nd release for David Tucker this year following a life-changing event. He was involved in a severe car accident in the Spring of 2021 that put his career and life on hold to recover. David spent nearly a year and a half recuperating from his injuries. The accident changed his perspective, showing him how it wasn't just physical but also emotional and mental recovery. David's story is a testimony of his faith and determination. The first single David released following his recovery was an inspirational song titled Water It Down. The music video was filmed in Pennsylvania and recreated the car accident that David was involved in and the recovery.

David Tucker will release two more singles and music videos this year leading up to the 6-song EP which will be available in late September.

It was a pleasure to speak with you, David Tucker. thank you for taking the time to tell me your story In A Country Minute.
